Overview

Our modular green roof solution, the M-Tray®, has transformed what was previously a fairly unsightly bitumen rooftop at a Mayfair hotel into a beautiful green space for guests to enjoy.

About the project

Conversion of the 13sqm space was awarded to Wallbarn after we successfully completed the hotel group’s first green roof project at the Radisson Heathrow.

Being so easy to transport our M-Trays® were selected as the fastest and most efficient way of converting the unused space into a lush, green and aesthetically-pleasing space. The installation only took half a day with minimal disturbance to guests.

Being self-contained meant the M-Trays® could be carried through the hotel on luggage trolleys up to the rooftop balcony without creating any mess.

Not only are our M-Trays® easy to install and easy to transport, but they will also last indefinitely. Every now and again throughout the year, you will need to do some maintenance; weeding, but apart from that, our trays are designed to be self-sufficient (they are designed to capture rainwater, releasing it gradually feeding the species set into our special substrate).

The modular units clip together allowing the plants to blend into a seamless, established and sustainable green roof.
