Headpieces & Fixings
Connectors & Fixings
Connecting Wallbarn components and products is easily managed with the range of brackets, fixings, and screws we offer. Although these components are small, they are crucial to ensure everything is correctly connected and fully compatible.
Whether you’re connecting timber to composite, timber, or metal joists, each scenario will require specific screws and fixings.
Our team is happy to assist you in selecting the appropriate product for your project, ensuring compliance with the latest fire safety regulations.
M8 Wing Nut Kit
Constructed from stainless steel, the M8 Wing Nut Kit meets Class A fire rating requirements. It is designed for use with the MetalPad Ex pedestal and securely attaches any of our aluminium rails/joists to the pedestal’s head.
The wing nut is connected by hand to give greater flexibility and ease of use. Installers can loose fit the wingnut connectors, make any last minute position or height adjustments, then tighten the nut to secure the system fully.
Additionally, it facilitates the connection of stainless steel brackets to the I-Plus Beams, whether they’re joined end-to-end or at right angles.
Initially, the M8 Kit allow for a loose assembly of the framework, enabling precise positioning before firmly tightening the wing nuts to establish a strong and sturdy system.
Brackets
Constructed from stainless steel, we have Class A brackets that are used to connect our extensive range of aluminium joists / rails..
We offer straight brackets for end-to-end rail / joist connections and right-angle brackets for joining rails / joists perpendicularly.
Two connection options available:
Straight & right angled plates can be used using self tapping screws; or specially designed Wallbarn Brackets can be fitted using the wing nut kits by hand.
The plates that are secured by self tapping screws are particularly suitable for the Box Rail but can also be used on the I-Plus Rails.
Specially designed Wallbarn brackets can be used to fit the I-Plus Rails together using the M8 Wing Nut Kits.
This is ideal for making a sturdy substructure system for paving or decking requirements.
Fixing Clips
Wallbarn offers a selection of fixing clips for decking, with a special focus on those designed for centrally milled boards that accommodate hidden fixings.
Our top recommendation is the W Clip 60, made from black electroplated aluminium. The W Clip 60 includes pre-attached screws, facilitating a quick and straightforward installation process.
Specifically designed by Wallbarn to complement our 60mm wide aluminium joist / rails, these clips provide an ideal hidden fixing solution that conforms to Class A standards.

Screws
Ensuring you select the right screw for your project is critical, as it serves as the essential link connecting all major components.
Wallbarn has designed its own screws to integrate with our headpieces, fixings, and connectors. This is aimed at creating not just an aesthetically pleasing system but also one that maintains its strength and durability over time.
Choosing the correct screw is vital to minimise corrosion risks between different metals and to ensure compatibility with the specific materials of your chosen product. We have selected screw types that are user-friendly during installation (when installed using the correct torque setting), and their heads are engineered to resist shearing off during installation.
Feedback from our customers highlighted the need for both black and stainless steel screws, depending on the application, and we have made both options available. Black screws are designed to prevent the visibility of shiny aluminium from above, while standard stainless steel screws are offered for other types of fixings where visibility is not a concern.
Starter Clip
The Wallbarn Starter Clip, crafted from stainless steel, boasts a Class A fire rating, making it compatible with most of Wallbarn’s fire-rated decking systems, including CDeck & Exadeck.
The proper installation method involves securing the starter clip to the joist using one of our stainless steel screws before laying the first board, which is then slotted into place, ensuring secure fixing of the boards.
