Keeping Good Company With Your New Green Roof

    February 25th, 2016

There can be little doubt that the numerous benefits of installing a green roof onto your property are now well documented.

With countries such as France introducing new legislation stating that all new buildings in commercial zones across the country must now be at least partially covered by either plants or solar panels, the movement towards widespread green roofing installations is becoming irresistible.

Please Note – Many public sector buildings in UK also have green roofs as a standard inclusion in the design.

    Keeping Good Company

Along with Governments introducing new legislation, many major companies are taking it on themselves to make the move towards creating an M-Trayenvironmentally friendly building and companies simply do not come much bigger than Facebook who has embraced the idea.

“Facebook didn’t hold back in its expansion of the company’s Menlo Park, Calif., headquarters.

The 430,000 square ft.-building, known as MPK 20, can hold up to 2,800 people and is certified by the U.S. Green Building Council, according to sources familiar with the project. It includes a 9-acre green roof — that’s roughly the size of seven football fields — with a half-mile walking loop and over 400 trees.”
